Introducing the 1-10 Hopscotch - a dynamic and educational addition to any school's outdoor play area! Designed to engage young learners while enhancing their numeracy skills, this school blacktop stencil transforms a simple game into an exciting and interactive counting adventure.

The 1-10 Hopscotch stencil allows students to explore the world of numbers in a fun and physical way. Featuring a clean and clear layout, it effortlessly paints a vibrant and visually appealing hopscotch grid onto any school blacktop surface. With numbers 1 to 10 neatly arranged, children can hop and move, all while building a strong foundation in counting, number sense, addition, and subtraction.

The beauty of the 1-10 Hopscotch lies in its ability to seamlessly integrate physical activity with learning. As students navigate their way through the hopscotch grid, they engage their minds and bodies simultaneously, promoting a holistic approach to education. Each hop becomes a stepping stone towards numerical mastery, as they develop their ability to recognize, sequence, and manipulate numbers.

By integrating hopscotch into the curriculum, educators can encourage active play while reinforcing essential math skills. Students will naturally strengthen their counting abilities, number recognition, and grasp of basic arithmetic operations as they eagerly hop from one number to the next. The 1-10 Hopscotch provides an interactive platform for students to practice and refine their math skills, all while enjoying the thrill of physical movement.

Not only does the 1-10 Hopscotch foster a love for numbers, but it also promotes social interaction and friendly competition. As children take turns hopping and playing together, they develop valuable social skills such as turn-taking, collaboration, and sportsmanship. The hopscotch grid becomes a hub of shared experiences and joyful learning moments for students of all ages.

Elevate numeracy education to new heights with the 1-10 Hopscotch and empower your students to excel in mathematics while keeping their spirits high!

Curriculum & Math Activities

1-10 Hopscotch
Number Sequence Challenge
Instruct students to hop on the Hopscotch while saying the numbers aloud in the correct sequence. Start with basic counting and gradually increase the challenge by skipping numbers, counting in multiples, or counting backward.

Number Recognition Race
Call out a number, and students race to find and hop on the corresponding space as quickly as possible. You can vary the difficulty by calling out single-digit numbers or an equation, such as 5 + 4, and let the student find the correct square.

Odd or Even Challenge
Have students take turns hopping on the Hopscotch, identifying whether the number they land on is odd or even. To make it more challenging, ask them to perform a physical activity (e.g., jumping jacks) if the number is odd and a different activity (e.g., squats) if the number is even.

Hopscotch Addition

Have students role dice or use a spinner to advance along the hopscotch with the goal of arriving at the end. For example, on the first role, a student might roll 3, and the student would hop to the 3. The student would then roll again, and if the student rolled a 5, the students would add 5 and hop to number 8. For variety and a challenge, you could require the student to only complete the hopscotch by rolling the exact number they need to arrive at 9. For example, if the students was on the 5 square, the student would need to roll a 4 to arrive at the 9. A roll of 5 or 6 would be too high and wouldn't count.
