Curriculum & Math Activities

1-100 Grid
Number Hunt
Assign each student a number from 1 to 100. They must find their number on the grid by physically moving to the correct spot. This game reinforces number recognition and spatial awareness.

Number Line Relay
Divide the class into teams. Each team stands in a line, and the teacher calls out a number. The first student from each team must quickly find and stand on the corresponding number on the grid. The team that correctly forms the number line first wins. This game enhances number sequencing and teamwork.

Skip Counting Scavenger Hunt
Choose a starting number and a skip count interval (e.g., start at 5 and count by 3). Students take turns finding and standing on the next number in the sequence on the grid. This activity reinforces skip counting skills and encourages physical movement.

Number Patterns
Assign each student or group of students a specific number pattern to find on the grid (e.g., multiples of 4). They must locate and mark all the numbers that follow the pattern. This activity develops pattern recognition and critical thinking skills.

Equation Relay

Write a series of equations on index cards. Each team must solve the equation and then find and stand on the correct answer on the grid. The next player in line solves the next equation, and the relay continues. This game reinforces math problem-solving skills and promotes physical activity.

Race to 100
A pair of students race to 100 on the grid using dice to progress. Students roll dice, add the numbers, and then advance to the corresponding number on the grid. For example, if a student rolled a 3 and 6, they would advance 9 spaces along the number line. For younger students, you could use a single die. To add variation and fun, you could have students advance a bonus 3 spaces whenever they land on a multiple of 5.
