As they move, they say the letter name and its corresponding sound. This game reinforces letter recognition and phonics skills while incorporating movement and engagement.
Phonics Sound Serpent
Write words or pictures on each letter space of the snake that start with different phonetic sounds. Students slither along the Alphabet Snake, stopping on each letter to say the word or sound out the picture's beginning sound. This activity strengthens phonics skills and improves sound-letter correspondence.
Alphabetical Order Adventure
Challenge students to slither along the Alphabet Snake, starting from letter A and reaching the tail at letter Z, while saying the letters in alphabetical order. This activity reinforces letter sequencing, alphabetical order, and phonemic awareness.
