Hide small letter cards or cutouts around the blacktop area. Challenge students to find the letters and place them in the corresponding spots on the Alphabet Tree of Knowledge. Encourage them to name the letter and provide a word that starts with that letter.
Tree Climber Spelling Bee
Divide the class into teams. Each team member takes turns hopping along the Alphabet Tree hopscotch grid, spelling out a given word one letter at a time. The team members must take turns correctly spelling the word before the next team member hops. This game encourages spelling accuracy, teamwork, and friendly competition.
